Location

Please phone and make arrangements if you are new to Rinzai-ji.  We will make sure you find an open door if we are expecting you.  We welcome new people with a brief orientation. Please see First Time Visitors - Etiquette and Details

Rinzai-ji is located at 2505 Cimarron Street in Los Angeles, California.

From I-10 heading East, take the Arlington Avenue exit and turn right on Arlington. Turn left on 25th street then right on Cimarron Street. Now you are driving beside the white wall around Rinzai-ji.  Follow the wall right into the first alley, the gate to the Zen Center is immediately on your right.

From I-10 West:
Take the Arlington Avenue exit and turn left on Arlington.  Cross the freeway and stay straight. Turn left on 25th street then right on Cimarron Street. Now you are driving beside the white wall around Rinzai-ji.  Follow the wall right into the first alley, the gate to the Zen Center is immediately on your right.

Flying to Rinzai-ji

Fly to LAX

If you are arriving for a sesshin or for an extended stay and you email or phone with your flight information, then we will pick you up at LAX.  Because gas and vehicle maintenance are increasingly expensive we appreciate donations to assist with the cost of driving.

Don't Fly to Long Beach Airport

We really don't recommend this as it's not possible for us to pick you up.  If you really need to fly to Long Beach Airport you will need to arrange your own ground transportation to and from Rinzai-ji.  Click here for some help organizing ground transportation.
