Retreat: April 17 (Sat) – 18 (Sun)
Hanamatsuri Ceremony: Sunday, April 18
Please join us at for this weekend Zazenkai as we honor Buddha’s Birthday, also known as Hana-matsuri 花祭り (Flower festival), one of the Three Buddha Ceremonies. We are pleased to announce that this retreat will be lead by Hogen Heribert Osho from Germany.
It will be an online retreat, including dharma talks and dokusan/practice interviews with Hogen Osho. Off-line time will be built into the schedule to allow for meals, work practice at your home, and kinhin.
Suggested Contribution: $50-75. We know that some people are struggling financially, and we want to make these offerings available to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. If you can afford more, please consider giving at a higher level to help others.
Everyone who registers will receive a schedule with Zoom links. While we encourage full-time participation, you may join us for as much as you can. Please contact office@rinzaiji.org if you have any questions.
Hōgen Heribert has studied with Jōshu Sasaki Rōshi since 1987. He was ordained as a monk in 1998, as an Oshō in 2014, and currently teaches at the Bodhidharma Zendo in Augsburg in the south of Germany. It was founded in the year 2000 and its name was given by Genrō Seiun Dai Oshō who participated in Zazenkai several times. Sasaki Roshi attempted to visit us in 2009 but it was unfortunately not possible due to his health. Noritake Roshi visited the center in the spring 2018.
