A special Sunday program where Jiun Varant Arslanian Zenji will introduce the community to several of his Dharma friends from Japan: Sasaki Hōkaku, abbot of Gyokuryūji, Tatsuyama Daiyū, abbot of Yūsenji and Ichimura Kōbin, former monk and now lay practitioner.
Please join us at Nirvana Ōzesshin commemorating the death and entrance into Nirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha. This Sesshin will take place at Mt.Baldy Zen Center in Sun Bernardino County. Rinzai-ji is pleased to announce that Shōkyū Minakawa Rōshi from Jōshū Rōshi’s ordination temple, Zuiryū-ji in Sapporo, is returning to lead the Nirvana Ōzesshin once again.
We'll be having our monthly Samu & Lunch at Mt.Baldy in preparation for Nirvana Ōzesshin. Please come to Mt.Baldy Zen Center directly on this day. The work begins at 9:00 a.m. Please do let us know at office@rinzaiji.org if you can carpool or if you need a ride. Dates are now extended to February 2nd
